If you have seen a photo of a warehouse with books and bookworms commenting on it on the internet, well, mostly Facebook, then this post is about it. This is a new found haven for book lovers since coming home with cheap and new stack of books is heaven on earth already. If you happen to not like books then you haven't found the right book for you, yet! Last Saturday, Bonito and I headed over to Pasig with our instincts & common sense since we both haven't been that far from Quezon City and also because adventure time is fun time. I asked a friend on how to get to there beforehand but somehow got confused where to go next. Luckily, Bon has a GPS in his phone — although I must admit, I never really believed on GPSs since they sometimes cause direction mishaps. Anyhoo, we managed to get to the warehouse nonetheless.
The warehouse was a tad bit smaller than I expected it to be. Don't get me wrong, once you're in there, you'll be washed by overwhelm and OCD too because unorganized books everywhere. I didn't even know where to begin! We got there at around 2PM and the warehouse closes at 5 so I was kind of panicking inside. There was one girl who brought home 3 boxes of books plus her mom's boxes and I think I've added a new life goal in my list. And also, A+ points to that, the people working in the warehouse because they were very accommodating and nice. I mean if I were to work the whole day and sweat so much, I don't think I would still be able to smile at customers. So shout out to them u da real MVP.
All books cost 10 pesos only. If that's not a bargain sent from heaven then I don't know anymore. I bought 8 books in total — mostly hardbound and leather-y — all in good condition. I also bought my mom books I think she liked (she's more into poetry, bible verses, and crafty books soz)
"Books are a uniquely portable magic.”
I went home with back pain, slight fever, and a wide grin because book coma. Funny thing is last summer I would constantly complain on how I'm running out of books to read. Well this is a huge adjustment to my growing book collection haha! Also, I think I should stay away from books for awhile because I have no funds left and I have too many books to read; or so if I find the time since college is hectic as fuck.
*Incase you didn't know: I used to download .PDF files because old Silka thinks buying a physical copy would be a waste of money when you can download it off the internet for free.
I told my mom about it when I got home and she insisted on going back again.
